doubleTwist upgrades, as long as you haven’t

On my constant quest to find the best way to manage media on my iPod Touch I came upon doubleTwist.  The independent media manager allows you to sync just about any content with any device, specifically the Touch.  Now doubleTwist decided to shoot a large shell across Apple’s bow.  While only available with the Mac version of the software it now includs Amazon Store integration allowing users to purchase content from the massive online retailer.  That’s right, now doubleTwist presents a means to purchase music via the software just like iTunes.

This update comes with a caveat above and behind the Mac limitation; it doesn’t work with the iPhone/iPod Touch 3.0 firmware.  Okay, I realize only about 5% of iPod Touch owners actually upgraded to the new software but really doubleTwist?  You’ve had months to figure this out and still can’t sync to devices running the latest greatest?  Needless to say, this is a deal breaker and the reason I had to stop using the software.

However, if you haven’t updated your iPod or iPhone and are looking for a great alternative to iTunes then check out doubleTwist.  In the meantime, you can watch the video below to see what all you Mac users can do with your 2.0 iProduct.
