TechCrunch reports that in a completely out of character move Google will officially be taking it’s new web browser, Chrome, out of Beta status. I know…wow! The move comes as the fledgingly browser has peaked the interest of corporations that can only roll out officially released products. Having only been out for a few months this comes as a surprise for a company well known for seemingly branding products as “beta” perpetually. Gmail is going into it’s fifth year (or close to that) and the web-mail service is still being toted as a beta application. Come on, Google, this is just getting stupid. You’ve officially taken the cool out of geeks who claim to be “beta testers”.
