TechCrunch reports that Microsoft is beginning to roll out its new social services under the Live banner. The new homepage for users will resemble something like Friendfeed with built in storage for things such as photos. I logged into my account to see if changes had occurred but nothing as of yet. This roll-out is suppose to be worldwide so be patient and keep checking. Something like this may make Live a more relevant service in what is becoming a very social Internet.

Its awesome move from MSFT. I wonder if they can unveil this space to Enterprise by providing social networking. Biggest rivals would be Jive I believe.
I agree, TechGeek. This was a brilliant move by Microsoft to leverage there already enormous Messenger user base into a full-on social network. One of those most strategic moves I’ve ever seen in the tech industry. Now, we’ll just have to see how quickly it erodes (if at all) the Facebook following.
